Job Description
• To provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex Physiotherapy problems as an autonomous practitioner within clinical speciality area. • To undertake line management responsibility for staff, within the service area to provide a responsive and effective service. • To actively support the Team Leader in the operational management of the area and service developments on a local and/or service-wide level. • To provide clinical education and training. • To have responsibility for specific projects or initiatives contributing to the overall delivery of the service within a clinical speciality area. • To be responsible for providing information to the Senior Management Team Clinical • To provide specialist physiotherapy assessments over a range of conditions and complexities using advanced clinical reasoning to analyse clinical and non-clinical findings to form accurate physiotherapy diagnoses and prognoses. • To assess patient understanding of assessment and treatment in accordance with the Consent Policy, and to assist members of the team to work within the legal framework for patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment. • To provide health education, health promotion and prevention advice. • To manage a clinical caseload, organising this effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and use of time with access to expert support as required, both for self and more junior staff, within MDT. • To formulate and recommend to others the best course of physiotherapy intervention and/or treatment programmes to meet the agreed goals set with the individual patient/or carer, using evidence based practice and a wide range of treatment skills and options.
